I’m chasing you,
Yet it seems you are always slip out of my grasp.
Wisdom,
You are like an Gazelle and I, a Lion.
I am hungry for your company,
Chasing after you,
But when you sense I am near you bolt.

magician
Foolishness on the other hand,
Is trying to seduce me to join his team.
His pleasures have no equal,
And his food is addictive.
One taste and you want more.

I want to be with wisdom,
But he is so hard to find,
And even harder to understand.
But foolishness,
He understands me
And only too well!
He knows my weaknesses,
And knows how to force me to my knees.
He is a tempter,
A conniving magician.

wisdom

Yet still I seek and crave wisdom to be my companion, my friend.
I want him to teach me, to nurture me,
To change and transform me into a better me.
So I pursue him,
Hoping that one day I will catch him.
wisdom 1

Based on Proverbs 1 – which talks about chasing after wisdom. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” – Proverbs 1:7.
