The realme C35 has been the talk of the town since June, and for a good reason. The phone that recently joined the C series is a massive upgrade from the C25, which was released last year. This new model is bigger, brighter and has a fantastic screen resolution. The first thing that will make you fall in love with this phone is its glowing design, which makes it look futuristic. The realme C35 also boasts numerous features. Let’s dive deeper into some of the best features of this phone.

Design And Screen

The realme C35 is the thinnest and lightest phone in the C series. It weighs 187g, making it comfortable to hold and lighter to carry, unlike most bulky and heavy phones. The realme C35’s design emulates the latest iPhones. The phone boasts of a new right-angled bezel design which is as thin as 8.1mm. It also uses a rare 2D plate.

On the left side of the phone, you will find a nano sim card slot, and just below it, a micro-SD card slot and the volume controls. The power button is on the right side, and it also acts as the fingerprint sensor to help protect your essential information. The sensor is instant and faster than traditional fingerprint technology. The selfie camera is on the front in the middle.

The headphone jack is at the bottom edge of the phone, which is 3.5mm. You will also find the microphone, speaker and USB port. The realme C35, like most newly introduced phones, uses a type C USB. On the back is a polycarbonate rear panel featuring a fantastic glass-like finish. You will find the protruding camera bump in the upper corner, which has become the trend with new high-end phones.

If you enjoy watching movies or videos on YouTube, as I do, then best believe this phone is quite impressive in terms of screen ratio. The realme C35 is the first phone in the C series with a 6.6-inch FHD Fullscreen and a resolution of up to 2408x 1080.

The smartphone is available in two exciting colours – glowing green and glowing black. Both colours have a glossy glass effect that gives them a classy look. The exciting part about this model is that it comes with a pre-installed screen protector.

Performance And Software

When purchasing a new phone, you always want to know if it operates at a reasonable speed. The good news is that you do not have to worry about that when it comes to the realme C35. The phone has a Unisoc Tiger T616 chipset with a 12nm octa-core processor. It runs on Android 11, which is a little disappointing given that Android 12 has been out for a few months. However, it still operates quite well. In terms of apps, the realme C35 comes with pre-installed apps like TikTok, Snapchat, Amazon and the standard google apps. The menu is easy to adjust to as well.

I am not a gaming fan, but for game lovers, the phone comes with a 60 Hz refresh rate which handles games very well. However, you might experience a few glitches for games with heavy graphics. When it comes to multitasking, if you have many apps running in the background at once, then you will notice some lagging.

If you are a content creator and a selfie lover like me, you know how important it is to have sufficient phone storage. There’s nothing more embarrassing than being out with your friends, and while taking a group photo, you realize you don’t have enough space. Luckily the realme C35 has you covered. In terms of storage, the phone has RAM of 4GB/6GB, ROM of 64GB/128GB and a card slot that allows external storage of up to 1TB.

Battery

The realme C35 has a 5000 mAh battery which is a bit of a downgrade from the realme C25, which has a 6000 mAh battery. However, the battery is still powerful. You can enjoy music, scroll through your favourite apps, answer your emails and even watch movies without worrying about having a charger everywhere you go. It also comes with an 18W quick charge adapter that charges your phone to 50% in just 49 minutes. This comes in handy on those days when you wake up late and realize you forgot to charge your phone. The phone also has a super power-saving mode that enables you to use your phones even at 5%.

Camera

A good camera is one of the most important features when considering a new phone. The realme C35 has a beautifully designed 50 MP AI Triple camera on the back of the phone and an 8MP Al selfie camera in the front. The selfie camera supports filter and HDR functions. Sadly, the phone doesn’t have portrait mode for the front camera, but you can still get good selfies, especially with the AI Beauty feature.

The primary camera at the back has a 50 MP image sensor and an f/1.8 aperture that allows enough light to enable you to take clear and bright photos. The macro, just below the primary, has an aperture of f/2.4 and a 4cm shooting distance. This lens ensures that you get detailed photos. The third camera, the B&W Portrait lens, sits in the middle with an aperture of f/2.8. It enhances the contrast between light and dark images and produces portraits with a unique black-and-white touch.

The camera has other features you can play around with to achieve the best photos. Burst mode is the first; it lets you take burst shots of up to 20 photos. This feature comes in handy when taking photos of a person moving or doing an activity. There’s also pro mode, which enables you to take pro shots; you can adjust the exposure, autofocus and aperture to get perfectly detailed photos. You can also take good shots with the night mode, mainly if you use the 50MP lens.

In terms of video recording, the phone does quite well. You can shoot videos at 1080p 30fps with the primary camera and 720p 30fps with the selfie camera.

Verdict

The realme C35 has been a real upgrade in the C series. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing in terms of design, it has the qualities of a good phone: an impressive battery life, a powerful camera and stable software. For a friendly budget phone, it is pretty impressive. If you are in the market for a slim, stylish and affordable phone, then this is the right one for you.

The realme C35 is available on Kilimall, Jumia, Sky Garden and other e-commerce shops. You can also purchase it in physical shops across the country. The phone is sold at are retail price of 21,199.
