Espionage? Conspiracy? Hot British guy in a suit saving the damsel in distress with class, style, and bad ass moves? I am basically describing James Bond, Kingsman, and every other major hit spy movie created.

The transporter
The transporter

Yesterday I got the chance to watch the new Transporter Refueled movie and it was epic. Let me first start by saying as a disclaimer, I haven’t watched the other Transporter films, and I have been told that they are better so now my mission is to get them all and do a run through. I do have to admit I am a spy-movie fanatic and when there is a mission with some good old fashioned fast paced action, a cliché love story, and a man with class –who tends to go shirtless at least once in the movie- not to mention a heart-warming family relationship, and I am sold.

The story line is basically based around Anna a girl sold into prostitution at the age of twelve who has had enough of it, and together with three other girls plan an elaborate escape plan to get out and destroy the life of the man who got them into all of it in the first place, their cruel pimp who doesn’t give a cow’s behind about the girls who work for him.

The problem is the girls can’t do it alone, and this is where Frank (played by Ed Skrein aka this week’s MCM) comes in. He is also known as the transporter and has an anonymous relationship with his clients on a “Don’t ask, don’t tell basis.” He transports questionable items for clients, without asking what the items are or the names of his clients.

Anna gets Frank involved unwillingly by kidnapping his retired father, Frank Senior and threatening to kill him if Frank junior doesn’t co-operate with her and the rest of the girls in their scheme to get pay back on their human-trafficking pimp. In the process though, Frank Junior realizes that Anna and the girls are only doing what they are doing because of the hell they have lived through for the last 20+ years.

Frank also realizes that years earlier when he was in the army he had had a stint that ended on despicable terms with the sinister Russian Kingpin who happened to be the pimp the girls are trying to get revenge upon.

The movie is filled with ironic comments and dry humor that makes you smile. If you are looking for an entertaining movie that doesn’t drain you, or confuse you with the complicated scheme and chain of events then this is the movie to go to.
